The Royal Spa in Bridlington is the host of the World Masters in October. It will turn out to be the year of Swedish ace Goran Klemme. He defeats some top players, including Martin Phillips, Bobby George, Gary Robson and John Walton, and meets world champion Raymond van Barneveld in the final. Barney wins 7-3, after beating Martin Adams 6-1 in the semis. Gary Anderson wasn’t able to win a set against Barney in the quarterfinals.

After Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Dave Whitcombe and Bob Anderson Raymond van Barneveld becomes the fifth player in history to win this tournament more then once.
