The 44th edition of the Winmau World Masters was held from 25-27 September at the Royal Spa in Bridlington. It was the 36th ladies edition.

It was a memorable edition, especially for Lorraine Winstanley. She wins her first major by defeating Australian Corrine Hammond in the final.

On her way to the final Winstanley also beats Rachna David from Norway, Russian Anastasia Dobromyslova and compatriot Tricia Wright. Biggest surprise is the elimination of the worlds number one Deta Hedman's by Sarah Roberts. Title holder Trina Gulliver-MBE loses in the quarterfinals to her compatriot Tricia Wright.
