High finish

In 2006, the tournament is all about the Premier League in 2007. After the World Grand Prix the top six in the world will be sure of a place in the prestigious competition. However, all pre tournament favourites for that place go out prematurely and it is outsider Terry Jenkins who takes a Premier League spot. He reaches the final in Ireland by beating Peter Manley in the semi-finals. In the final, Taylor is his opponent who is unbeatable again this year.

For Peter Manley it is the fifth time he loses in the semi-finals, a record. After two good years the number one in the world, Colin Lloyd loses in the first round this year. Dennis Priestley repeats his performance from a year earlier when he reaches the semi-final. For Priestley it is the third time in this tournament, but unfortunately he meets his biggest rival for his second time in the semi final. final Phil Taylor is again a bit too better than Dennis 'The Menace'. With the victory in 2006, Taylor has now won seven of the nine Grand Prix’, an incredible percentage.
