From the Caribbean, Turks and Caicos make their debut at this year's WDF World Cup Youth. Also Latvia and Russia are returning after an eight-year absence. It will be a messy edition, but a very exciting one, especially in the men’s competition.

In 2003 it is the first time that a WDF World Cup for youth is held in Europe. This gives many countries the opportunity to participate for the first time. Host country France, the Netherlands, Norway, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Russia and Scotland are all there for the first time.

Singles
The Netherlands immediately also takes its first gold. Jerry Hendriks beats Australian Kyle Anderson in the semi-finals and Northern Irishman Richard Dunlop in the final. The second bronze goes to Kevin Munch from Germany. In the girls, England’s Kate Dando wins in a deciding leg from the South African youngster Shunnet Luke. The bronze there goes to Kathleen Logue from Australia and Kelly Raaphorst from the Netherlands. It is the first time that the girl’s singles are not won by Australia.

Mixed Pairs
Four years after his brother Beau took the mixed pairs and overall titles for Australia, in 2003 Kyle Anderson repeats that feat. Together with Kathleen Logue, Anderson wins the pairs by beating Oskar Lukasiak & Maria Fogd 3-2 in the final. The bronze medal goes to Nikita Medvedev & Darina Tsvetkova from Russia and Jerry Hendriks & Kelly Raaphorst from the Netherlands.
