WDF World Cup Ladies Overall 1997
After Brisbane, Queensland in 1985 the World Cup darts goes "Down Under" for the second time in history, this time to Perth in Western Australia. The long trip to the southern hemisphere means there are a lot fewer countries than two years previously in Basel, Switzerland. But with 26 countries, the organizers cannot complain, as all the top countries are present for this event.
The overall ranking was won by the USA with 28 points, the points they had won in the pairs event. New Zealand followed at one point with 27 points. The ladies from the Philippines surprisingly took third place with 20 points. Northern Ireland was fourth with 18 points and Wales fifth with 17 points. England finished way back in eighth place with 14 points.
