WDF Europe Cup Men Teams 1990

Corradino Sports Pavilion, Verdala (Paola)
From: Thursday 8 November 1990
Till: Saturday 10 November 1990

From 8 until 10 November VII European Cup was held at the Corradino Sports Pavilion in Malta. Seventeen countries participated which was a new record. The only question was if any team could keep the favourite English team consisting of John Lowe, Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson and Phil Taylor from retaining the European Cup title.

In the team event the English team steamrolled its opponents. After a bye in the first round because the Spanish team did not show up, they defeated Norway (A. Folgero JI Ekren, K. Nilsen and SA Hjelmeland), 9-1. The surprising Belgians (B. Raes E. Clarijs F. Smout and JM Dejonghe) were then brushed aside in the semi-finals 9-4. In the final, the Swedes, without Stefan Lord in there midst (LE Karlsson, M. Caris You Liman and S. Nagy) lost 9-1 and so the England team took its fifth title in the European Cup team event effortlessly.
