The sixth edition of the European Darts Open was played from 30 June to 2 July. Until last year, this tournament was always played at the Maritim hotel in Düsseldorf, but in 2017 the tournament moved to the Ostermann Arena in Leverkusen.

Peter Wright continues his good form on the EuroTour of 2017. In Leverkusen he wins his fourth title of the year beating Mervyn King 6-2 in the final. En route to the final Snakebite also beats Robbie Green, Stephen Bunting, Dave Chisnall and Mensur Suljovic. Nobody takes more than three legs of the Scot this weekend.

Mervyn King also does good business in Leverkusen. The King plays strong and tally’s wins over Kim Viljanen, Ian White, Devon Petersen, Rob Cross and Michael Smith. The world’s number one and title defender Michael van Gerwen loses in a top match 6-2 to Rob Cross at the last 16 stage.

Peter Wright is now on five EuroTour titles from ten finals. For Mervyn King this was his fifth final. He remains on one title; The 2014 European Darts Grand Prix.
