In 2007 it was already the sixth edition of the Las Vegas Desert Classic played from 2 to July 8. For the second year in a row the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino was the host of the tournament.

The top 12 in the world played in the first round, which was completed with four players from North America and 16 qualifiers. The biggest surprise came right away in the first round. Mark Dudbridge defeated Phil Taylor 6-5. This paved the way for Raymond van Barneveld to win his third title in 2007. after winning the World Championship and the UK Open he now won the Desert Classic by defeating Terry Jenkins in the final 13-6.

In the semi-finals Barney had beaten the defending champion John Part. What stands out in the Desert Classic is that many of the same names keep doing well in this tournament. Peter Manley is one of them, the former champion reached the semi-finals again this year, same as Part.
